You know me, I’m all about finding good deals and these new wedding invitations are a great find! Here are 5 reasons why…

1. Your reception wording is printed on the invitation, which means no additional cost for reception cards.

2. You can have your online response service website and/or phone number printed on the invitation. No response cards needed! Response cards are still available if you’d like them. Or, you can do both just in case you have certain guests (Grandma and Grandpa) who aren’t super savvy online and would appreciate a response card.

3. There’s room for EVEN MORE details. Include your wedding website for directions and accommodation information. This is also a good spot for “No gifts needed.” or “This is an adult-only reception.”

4. Square wedding invitations (a.k.a. marquis) and pocket wedding invitations are super trendy. We’ve taken both trends and created an affordable seal and send wedding invitation that’s easy to send and stylish.

5. No envelopes required and coordinating seals printed with your return address are included!

The only downside to these is that square wedding invitations require additional postage to mail, but the money you’ll save on response card postage will more than make up for it. So go ahead, shop all twelve designs. We think you’ll be impressed.

Don’t forget, Ann’s offers up to 5 free samples of wedding invitations.  When you find one you like, simply click on the order sample button next to the personalize button.  We’ll mail your samples for free!

We’ve been doing research online, reading wedding magazines, attending weddings and talking with colleagues to come up with our 2013 Trend Watch for Brides. We’ve also included our recommendations for affordable items to help you achieve the look!

1920′s

1920's Trend

In 2013, brides will be most inspired by old world glamour with cinematic and literary influences like The Great Gatsby, Downton Abbey, Anna Karenina and A Royal Affair. 20s fashion included dropped waist dresses, beaded gowns, ornate lace details, long strands of pearls, costume jewelry, gold-tone jewelry, cloche style headpieces or beaded headbands. Receptions were more formal with specialty musicians like jazz trios, chandeliers, crystal touches, lush centerpieces, luxurious textures, beautiful coloring, Art Deco invitations and a black-tie dress code (think top hats for the groomsmen!).

Get the look of crystal without the price and go acrylic! Our acrylic cake stand and serving set are elegant and affordable.

Patterns and Prints

Patterns and Prints Trend

Incorporating patterns into wedding day décor is HOT in 2013! Couples will be using a signature pattern or print in their wedding design. Bridesmaids might wear striped skirts or carry bouquets with handles wrapped in fabric. Don’t forget the coordinating hand clutch (have you seen Jenna Lou Designs?) and groomsmen with print ties and boutonnieres made from fabric. Patterns to look for include chevron, stripes, gingham, paisley, houndstooth and polka dots. Prints can help you create a cohesive look from the invitation and favors to the table linens.

Create easy and inexpensive wedding favors with damask favor boxes and sweet ribbon favor boxes, both of which feature distinctly beautiful patterns.

Birds

Love Birds Trend

The bird theme continues to be popular into 2013. Lovebirds are associated with love and romance so they fit perfectly with weddings. Some cute bird-themed ideas include using different styles of birdcages as decorations, centerpieces or card holders. Add touches of feathers to your centerpieces, bouquets or boutonnieres. Toss birdseed (instead of rice) and use porcelain birds for your cake topper. Look for bird/feather accessories such as jewelry, shoe adornments and hairpins.

The Love Birds save the date and wedding invitation is one of several bird-inspired designs available on Ann’s Bridal Bargains. It’s a beautiful introduction of your bird-themed wedding celebration.

Cocktail Hour

Cocktail Hour Trend

We’ve seen reception lounges in a variety of styles that guests may sit and relax as they sip cocktails. Think soft couches, coffee tables, mood lighting and big overstuffed pillows! Themed bars are very popular. Ladies love a champagne, vodka or wine bar and the men will appreciate the scotch or bourbon bar. Another option is to have signature drinks fitting the theme of the wedding or favorites of the bride and groom.

Give your signature drink a fun name and have the name and recipe printed on menu cards. Place the cards on reception tables and at the bar.

Colors

Color Trends

Mint has a fresh and chic retro feel. Emerald Green (Pantone Color of the year for 2013) Shades of blue including pale blue, sea foam blue and navy. Gold will be everywhere in 2013 from gowns to décor. Consider gold ink for your wedding invitations for a unique touch of glamour.

Introduce your color scheme with the right invitation and use wedding napkins as a cheap way to add color to your wedding reception decorations. You will find discount wedding invitations and napkins in a variety of greens and blues here at Ann’s.

Farm or Lodge

Farm or Lodge Trend

Rustic farm, barn or lodge settings are big. Vintage décor with eclectic touches add a more formal feel. You could also achieve that more formal feel with the type of flowers chosen for centerpieces, surround the reception with candlelight, harp or a quartet of musicians playing during cocktail hour.

Use glass cylinders or canning jars to create rustic reception table centerpieces. Fill with pine cones, branches, autumn leaves or other natural elements for cheap decoration.

Bite-Sized Menus

Bite-Sized Trend

Consider having appetizers and desserts of bite-sized proportion, which look trendy and stylish. Guests will enjoy the idea of taste-testing foods and avoiding that “stuffed and tired” feeling. Serve small “mini” cakes instead of a large wedding cake surrounded by a variety of sweet candies, truffles and cookies for dessert.

Be sure to have plenty of wedding napkins on hand for guests to grab as they’re taking appetizers and desserts. Personalize your napkins with a cute phrase to fit the theme like “We’re taking a bite out of love.”

Pinterest

Pinterest Boards

Brides are using Pinterest to show off their personal style and collect a “Wedding Board” of inspiration.  You can create boards and share them with your friends, or you can keep them private so you are the only one who sees them.  Either way, Pinterest is a great way to collect ideas and inspiration for your big day!  Get started by browsing Ann’s Pinterest boards with budget savvy ideas, etiquette and much more!

Fun and funky have always been close friends of modern fashion. Patterns are an eye-catching way to capture that unique look while showing off some real personality! What we love about these wedding invitations is the bold nature of mixed patterns in soft pastels.

Vintage

Vintage is the ultimate in wedding fashion trends right now. Brides have fallen in love with romantic design elements like flourishes, flowers, damask and lace. We love all those things about these new vintage wedding invitations, but what we really love is the affordable thermography printing that gives them the exquisite look of engraving.

Ann’s Bridal Bargains releases the Petite Collection,

an affordable new line of wedding invitations.

Petite Wedding Invitations

Fall 2012 – Ann’s Bridal Bargains recently added a new line of affordable wedding invitations, the Petite Collection, to their extensive offering of discount wedding invitations and accessories.

The Petite Collection is designed around a smaller size, which uses less material and allows for a lower price point of $59.99 per 100 invitations. Couples can add a reception card, respond card and the necessary envelopes and still be well within range to mail each invitation for the cost of one standard postage stamp.

Ann’s Bridal Bargains is known for its affordable, well-designed invitations. This new line lives up to Ann’s reputation, providing couples with even more options at a lower price point than other invitation retailers. Each design within the Petite Collection is a stylish statement inspired by today’s wedding fashion and trends. A multitude of colors are available for creating a look that coordinates perfectly with each couple’s wedding color scheme.

“We focused on designing this collection to be visually high impact without overpowering the smaller size. The result was an impressive line that retained a delicate charm due to its petite nature,” said Jeremy Schulz, Invitation Designer for Ann’s Bridal Bargains.

The collection includes 21 invitations with more being added regularly. We invite you to visit the Petite Collection today to see the variety of designs and colors available.

Today is the last day of Real Wedding week, and that means we get to see what the couple chose for their budget-friendly weeding invitation! The winner is…

Option 2! Forever and Always

 Rachel and Danny's Invitation

Rachel and Danny really loved the elegance and romance of the Forever and Always wedding invitation, but they also liked the accents from the other invitations. They chose to add a green rhinestone to the invite’s design and they punched holes at the top of the invitation to thread with ecru satin ribbon. They added a coordinating envelope liner to complete this gorgeous ensemble.

Rachel and Danny saved money on postage for the R.S.V.P. by utilizing an online R.S.V.P. service. They had the website and a few instructions printed on the respond card instead of the traditional response wording. This option is becoming more and more common among today’s couples, and can be done with any invitation. Just call Ann’s customer service team to put in a custom order for no extra charge.

Rachel and Danny also saved money on their wedding by inviting a certain amount of guests to the ceremony/dinner, but had other invitations printed for guests invited to the dance portion only. This allowed them to save money on food at the dinner reception yet still have extended friends and family join in the celebration later on. Very smart!

And finally, photos from the big day…

Thank you so much to Rachel and Danny! We love the amazing budget-savvy ideas you came up with for your wedding invitations. Congratulations on a beautiful wedding and we wish you many years of happiness.

When Rachel and Danny came to us for advice on budget-friendly invitations, we decided to throw together a few different ideas. After careful consideration of their needs, we narrowed the choices down to three invitations.

Which one will they choose?

Here are some things we considered when coming up with options:

• Wedding Look – Rachel and Danny’s wedding colors were champagne, sage and brown. They wanted a look that was elegant with touches of flair.

• Affordable Accents – We looked at things like ribbon and rhinestones, which could be added to most invitations for a little extra pizzazz without adding cost.

• Guest Count -Rachel and Danny knew a smaller wedding would help them save money, and fewer invitations means less time assembling. This frees up time for fun, DIY accents!

• Money-Saving Details – To keep the cost as low as possible, we looked at easy money-savers like different formatting options, postcard responses and all-in-one invitations.

Option 1: Dreamy – Seal and Send Invitation

Option #1 - Dreamy Seal and Send Invitation

The Invite: Seal and Send invitations feature an all-in-one design, which means the wedding wording and reception wording are printed on the invitation and a detachable response postcard is included at the bottom. Response postcards require less postage. Another nice thing about seal and sends is they are self-mailing. Just fold, seal and send!

The Extras: The swirl design featured on the Dreamy invitation is elegant all on its own, but we added a sparkling rhinestone between the couple’s names for an easy touch of glamour.

The Cost: $99.99 per 100. All necessary pieces included! $3.99 per sheet of 25 rhinestones.

Option 2: Forever and Always – Separate and Send Invitation

Option #2 - Forever & Always Separate and Send

The Invite: Separate and Send invitations come as complete, coordinated stationery sets. Each invitation comes with two enclosure cards (respond card and reception card) on one convenient sheet. The enclosure cards are perforated for easy separation. Invitation envelopes and respond card envelopes are also included.

The Extras: The “forever and always” design creates such a beautiful element on this invitation, we wanted to accent this meaningful phrase with a clear rhinestone. We also chose lined envelopes to coordinate beautifully with the ensemble.

The Cost: $129.99 per 100. All necessary pieces included! $3.99 per sheet of 25 rhinestones. An additional $20 for lined envelopes.

Option 3:  Elegant Filigree – Invitation

Option #3 Elegant Filigree Invitation

A traditional-style invitation featuring a gate-fold front and luxurious embossing. The cost of this invitation will be higher since enclosures are sold separately. Rachel and Danny would need both the reception and respond cards, but this is still an affordable option especially for a traditional invitation ensemble with rich embossing.

The Extras: The gate-fold closure of this invitation makes it a unique choice. We decided to tie it closed with a shiny satin ribbon. We also added a lined envelope to coordinate.

The Cost: Invitations are $69.99 per 100. Reception cards are $46.99 per 100 and Respond Cards are $51.99 per 100. Satin Ribbon is $28.99 per 100-yard roll, which can also be used on decorations, bouquets and gifts. An additional $20 for lined envelopes.

Let us know which invitation is your favorite and what you like about it. We’ll reveal Danny and Rachel’s choice on Friday along with some fabulous photos of the big day!
